My Life as an Exchange Student in SWEDEN

Finally, I will mention my experience in Sweden in the last part of my blog. I lived in Sweden for only five and a half months, but it was both fun and instructive. At first, I asked myself what I could do in Sweden in a strict sense. I couldn’t come up with an answer regarding which option to choose because I was trying to adapt to the country, the city, and the people. My university started in September, and I had new teachers and new friends.

I think I should clearly mention that I couldn’t get used to speaking English in daily life when I first went to Sweden. For this reason, I couldn’t communicate easily with my course group friends. It was difficult for both me and my friends because of the language differences.

Moreover, the Swedish university education system is very challenging, and the courses include lectures, seminars, company visits, project meetings, project preparation, and assignments. However, I did my best to pass the courses. By the end of the university period, I had passed all the courses. Although it was a difficult period of study for me, I must say it was a great experience for my business life.

Good things to know about Sweden

When I watched a video about Swedish traditions, I realized that I have some wonderful memories of Sweden. I must also say that Swedish people are very polite and calm. Now, I can understand that a common tradition among Swedes is called "fika" and I’m curious about how it first emerged. If you get the chance to sit with Swedes at the same table for fika, you can see that they have pleasant conversations. Moreover, Swedes tend to be quite shy. I felt like I experienced everything mentioned in the video firsthand. For that reason, I would like you to watch the video as well so you can understand the unique lifestyle in Sweden.
